Eames Wire Chairs
Eames Wire Chairs by Charles & Ray Eames and Vitra
Wire Chairs can be used in all kinds of spaces – at home, in cafés, restaurants, waiting areas and in conference and training rooms. For the design of the Wire Chair (1951), Charles and Ray Eames used the shape of the famous Fibreglass Chair. With their innovative use of humble steel wire, the Eameses created an original and groundbreaking design. The use of wire makes the chair light and transparent, producing the impression of a three-dimensional metallic drawing. The seat and base are chrome plated (special stacking version available with linking elements). Bright slim line fabric or leather cushions add even more comfort to these chairs. Wire Chair Programme features: Seat shell in chrome-plated steel wire, comes either without upholstery, with seat cushions or with detachable seat and backrest upholstery. Hopsak (100% polyamide) or leather covers. ”Eiffel-tower“ base in steel wire or four-star tubular steel base, chrome-plated.
